WHO STARTED IT EPIC HOCKEY? WHAT IS IT?

I grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan having a dream of playing hockey. I played all of my minor hockey, AAA midget and Junior A in Saskatchewan. After my second year Junior I accepted a full scholarship to Lake Superior State University. I then went on to play 7 years of pro hockey and after a concussion I was forced to retire and get into coaching. I had been an assistant coach for 3 yrs one in the SJHL and the other two with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL. Through Epic Hockey I hope to share all the knowledge and experience I have gained through playing and coaching with the younger generations so they too can play at the highest level possible.
WHAT IS EPIC HOCKEY
EPIC HOCKEY develops the skill, confidence and knowledge of hockey in young athletes through incorporating a variety of innovative hockey drills. We will demonstrate, correct and encourage every participant in the camps by utilizing proper form, good habits and techniques. We believe that improving a skill comes through repetition and positive reinforcement.
INTERESTING FACT: It takes 10,000 hours or 10,000 repetitions to master a skill… With the ages of 9-12 being the most important for skill acquisition it is during this time period that the skills included in the speciality clinics need to be repeated consistently. (Hockey Canada, 2005)
